Samsung Galaxy S6 and iPhone 6 – The Epic Battle

On:→10:48:00 am With → 1 comment
Samsung Galaxy S6, iPhone 6

The 2015 Samsung flagship is a new beginning of sorts for the South Korean company – for it has ditched all the features and qualities the previous galaxy iterations were known for: plastic build, removable backs, and expandable storage. With dwindling net profits and increased competition from Xiaomi, OnePlus One and other Chinese manufacturers, Samsung was almost pushed to the brink of reinventing itself and coming up with something fresh. However, with the Galaxy S6, Samsung seems less bothered about its Chinese competition and keener on grabbing the Apple pie – which makes this versus encounter all the more relevant and interesting.

Design

As mentioned earlier, Samsung has ditched its plastic casing and adopted a more  Applesque’ approach with the latest Galaxy S line of phones. While the Galaxy S6 may look similar to previous Galaxy phones, the difference becomes tangible when the phone’s held in the palm. The rounded edges and a frame that’s 0.1 thinner than iPhone 6 at 6.8 mm are marvels that need to be palmed to truly cherish. The bezels are much thinner and also gone are the IP65 certifications from the S5, which not many really cared for, anyway.

Apple iPhone 6 has a unibody metal design which makes it more premium than the Galaxy S6, at least on paper. The new Galaxy phone, however, doesn’t take much inspiration from the latest iPhone, if the speaker dock is not to be considered. Its design seems heavily inspired by the iPhone 4, which also had a couple of glass panels held in place by a metal border.

Screen & Display

Like always, Samsung has sided with its Super AMOLED display technology. However, it has upped the ante in the pixel department this time around with its QHD layout (1440 x 2560), giving the phone the pixel density the market is currently craving for. Not to mention, the Galaxy S6 is among the first few phones to sport a Gorilla Glass 4 front and back – Corning’s latest generation of toughened smartphone screens.
Apple has very rarely paid attention to market trends and always dished out what it feels right; its 1334 x 750 retina display for the iPhone 6 is a proof. IPhone 6’s screen at 4.7 inches is bigger than previous iPhones, but it’s nowhere close to the FULL HD displays of modern smartphones. However, the display isn’t bad by any means and the resolution on offer is plenty enough, especially if you don’t compare it juxtaposed to the Galaxy S6.

Power & Storage

Owing to the overheating rumors, Samsung steered clear of Qualcomm chips for the first time and incorporated its in-house Exynos 7420 chip for the Galaxy S6, which is similar to the ditched Snapdragon 810 chip. It’s got the same quad-core GPU and 3 GB of LPDDR4 RAM most 2015 Android flagships have. Unlike previous Samsung models, there are no expandable storage options with the Galaxy S6. But with the base model starting at 32 GB storage capacity and the higher capacities ascending into 64 and 128 GB territory, there’s little video and app junkies can feel annoyed about. The battery capacity at 2600 mAh is below the 2800 mAh from last year and can be a big concern for road warriors, especially with the extra power needed to keep the phone’s pixel-rich screen in play.

IPhone 6, on the contrary, has stuck to its 64-bit dual-core A8 CPU clocked at 1.4GHz. There’s 1 GB LPDDR3 RAM and the storage capacities on offer are 16, 64, and 128 GB. The raw power of this iPhone may seem measly on an Android device but it’s apparently sufficient enough for iOS to sail smoothly enough. According to Apple, the iPhone 6 is much zippier and snappier than most Android flagships. On the battery front, the iPhone 6’s 1810 mAh battery isn’t special and can barely manage to power up a day of light to medium usage.

Camera

Samsung has stuck to the megapixel race, unlike Apple, with its 16-megapixel rear-mounted lens. It’s got a 5MP shooter at the front for some high-quality selfies. Anyway, does Samsung’s offering top the camera phone battle, especially when compared to other Android bigwigs? Yes, it does! It, in fact, it’s one of those few Android smartphone cameras that give the iPhone camera a run for its money. Its new f/1.9 captures more light and offers far better low-light pictures.

Apple sticks to its roots with the 8MP Sony sensors, with some configuration tweaks for optimized performance. There’s the rather unusable 1.2MP sensor at the front. When it comes to smartphone cameras, Apple iPhones have always topped the charts. But, it’s time Apple brings something new to the table as the competition that was once trailing far behind in terms of image quality is inching dangerously closer. In fact, the low-light performance on the Galaxy S6 is better than that of the iPhone 6.

Conclusion

The Galaxy S6 hasn’t reached out to the general consumer in full flow yet. But from the looks of it, it seems the Korean company has broken its slumber and delivered a beast of a smartphone that Apple and other smartphone OEMs must stand up and take notice. With the lukewarm press response to the recently launched HTC One M9 and LG G4 rumored to stay plastic, Samsung Galaxy S6 is perhaps well on its way to become the best smartphone of 2015 and Samsung's best yet.

Quick Tips About pros and cons of the apple watch your boss wants to know

The Apple iWatch 2015

Apple will soon be coming out with the iWatch. This watch does a whole lot more than tell the time. The big news is, it comes in three standard versions: regular, Sport, and Edition compatible with iPhone 5 and later. Some think it's worth it, but others are wondering what all of the hype is about.

Read also: A Guide To The Coolest iPhone5 Accessories

Pros

Health:
The watch has a barometer which measures the altitude and atmospheric pressure and can be used to predict the weather. It also has an accelerometer, and paired up they can track elevation and steps for accurate tracking.

The Screen:
The screen is made from sapphire crystal, a material that is more durable than glass or any screen protector making it truly scratch resistant. The screen recognizes both light touches and pressurized touches for different kinds of functions. The face is also customizable.

Vibration System:
The watch vibrates so that you can feel it on your wrist and uses different kind of vibrations for different kinds of functions.

Design:
Apple made sure that the watch wasn’t clunky or unattractive. The watch comes in three different styles like stainless steel, aluminum, and 18-karat gold, and there’s also many kind of straps that you can pair with it to give it the ultimate chic look.

Time:
Although the watch does more than tell time, it is really good at that basic watch function. It keeps time within 50 milliseconds of the global standard time. It’s also connected to your calendar and your contacts, so it displays time in a way that is personal and efficient to you.

Cons

Not a Standalone:
Unfortunately this watch is not a standalone. In order to utilize the watches potential, it must be connected to an iPhone. This isn’t a problem for those who do, but Apple has blocked out anybody not in the Apple world from purchasing this smart watch.

It’s Not waterproof:
The watch is not completely waterproof. It is splash and water resistant, but anything further could ruin your new iToy. The leather bands are not water resistant at all. This is a definite con because it makes the watch less competitive than other watches on the market.

Too Complicated:
The watch has a vast amount of control methods that can be confusing when you first start out. After a certain time, you’ll get used to turning off the screen when you wanted to switch back to home. Other watches do have a simpler and easier design.

Battery Life:
It’s quoted to have 18 hours of “normal use”, but the exact meaning of what that means is not entirely clear. At worst you’d have to charge it before the end of the day, which would be a huge con for Apple and another reason why it wouldn’t be very competitive in the market.

Not Too Different:

This is really a cool watch and Apple has certainly put a lot of time and thought into developing it, but it isn’t that different from other smart watches that are already available.

So is the Apple Watch going to be worth it? On April 10, you can decide for yourself.

A Guide To The Coolest iPhone5 Accessories

On:→11:10:00 am With → Leave a Comment
The iPhone5 is inherently cool. But what could make it positively icy is a clutch of ultra-cool accessories that you can play with, work with and are designed to generally enhance your whole iPhone experience. Here are five of the coolest accessories you’ll find on the market today:
A Guide To The Coolest iPhone5 Accessories

1. PopSLATE and Plastic Logic’s EPD display cover

Tired of diamante or leopard-print phone covers? Is that ‘basic black’ iPhone shell just too dull for words? While others are going for the whole ‘sleek’ engineered look, innovation experts Plastic Logic and PopSLATE decided to put the user back in charge of their iPhone with the EPD display cover. This cutting edge cover lets you customise your cover displayed on an integrated secondary electrophoretic display (EPD). Thanks to the flexible screen technology developed by Plastic Logic, it’s shatterproof, incredibly thin and lightweight and readable in direct light. It’s also energy-efficient, thanks to the ‘Always-on’ principle EPD. This means your battery is only used when you create a new image, and not when you’re simply leaving a static image on the screen.

Plastic Logic’s CEO Indro Mukerjee thinks it’s an accessory that will appeal to iPhone users across the world: “Our flexible EPD technology is proving ideal for smartphone accessory applications, and we are glad to be working with popSLATE in this market.

“In particular, Plastic Logic’s development of a colour flexible plastic display is significant, since the same process could enable unbreakable, flexible display solutions with other media such as LCD and OLED," he added recently.

2. MOTO TC Rally

Ah, boys (and girls) and their toys! This will appeal to your more playful side. The MOTO TC Rally is a tough RC car that connects to iOS devices via Bluetooth. It gives you all the fast maneuvering capabilities you can handle, thanks to proportional steering, impact sensors that detect bumps and crashes, shock-absorbing suspension, and rear-wheel drive to give it that authentic user experience. And for a bit of bling, you’ve even got ground-effect lighting.

3. Jackery Giant Portable Battery

Batteries. The bane of every iPhone user’s existence. How cool would it be to have a portable external battery that you could carry around with you, just in case? Oh, wait…there is! The Jackery Giant is an external battery with ultra-high capacity 10400mAh rechargeable power capacity and dual output ports. It works with iPhone5 and a whole host of other portable devices. It might be called ‘Giant’, but it’s pocket-sized and won’t accidentally activate and drain away, thanks to a fail-safe system.

4. BoxWave Keyboard Buddy Case

We might be getting rather good at ‘point’n’poke’ touchscreen technology, but sometimes you just need that keyboard, don’t you? Well, thanks to the BoxWave Keyboard, you can revert back to ‘type’ (apologies, we couldn’t resist that pun) and connect up this integrated wireless QWERTY keyboard to your iPhone. It has backlit keys, won’t interfere with the iPhone’s camera, and will last for about two weeks on a single charge.

5. Lightning to 30-pin Adapter

If you own 30-pin compatible accessories then you’ll know that the iPhone 5 is anything but compatible! However, this nifty little accessory gets around that problem and lets you use your 30-pin devices with your iPhone. Be aware, though, that it doesn’t support video output and it won’t work with all 30-pin plug-ins.

The news has startled the world with people from all spheres of life asking what was need of such a deal? Why would Apple, the company that digitalized music and made it a mainstream phenomenon need to buy Beats?
Apple Buys Beats By Music Industry Veterans Dr. Dre

Apple is the pioneer and the market leader in field on online entertainment but still it does face a lot of  competition. With music streaming apps such as Pandora , Spotify etc there has been a massive decrease in iTunes' s music sales this year. According to Apple Music has been dying and together with Beats and its online streaming service, music can be revived again. Beats music  streaming service's subscription is huge , Beats Know what is in, what people are listening and what to sell and Apple can make it a big business.
Another stiff competition that Apple faces is in headphone industry where their products are labeled as expensive craps. Some critics even said that Apple makes headphones to just test sound on their devices which does not do justice to a company of Apple's caliber. Essential Features of The New IOS; iOS7

On:→12:17:00 am With → Leave a Comment
All of you must have heard about the intuitive upgrade to iOS that Apple has just come with, namely iOS 7. The Common perception is that Apple just shipped a new Operating System with some fancy icons and background but that is not so. iOS 7 features a whole new revamp to the operating system. A lot of cool new features come within the package and it is worth a upgrade. We would go through some of the essentials.

Essential Features of The New IOS7

The user interface is the most revamped feature, being given a complete different flattish outlook. Some users might miss the buttonish icons of previous versions of iOS but the new look isn't bad either, it gives a clean look to the system.  The notification bar has massively evolved. It has been given a translucent new look. The new weather widget on board the notification bar gives a comprehensive report of the weather, stock rates widget gives a more detailed report on the market. There are now options for checking all of your missed notifications from the bar. Control panel has debuted as a new feature on iOS. It is a simple drag up menu which enables you to adjust sound, brightness, connectivity and has essential shortcuts like camera, flashlight etc within an app and on home screen and lock screen.

The way you multitask on your iOS device is not the same anymore. When you double tap the home key instead of icons appearing on bottom of screen you get a whole new menu where you can view thumbnails of the running apps. A simple swipe it all it would take to kill them.
Then how can we forget our dear Siri. iOS7 has been good to her too and has increased the intelligence level. The new Siri can perform a lot of new functions more efficiently. For example. When asked about EPL scores Siri replies. The humor gimmicks evolved too.

The camera app now features filters and kills the need of photo stimulating apps. With the introduce of iTunes radio all online radio apps have been put out of business. The app store itself has been revamped with a new functionality of displaying location based popular apps.  Another essential app the 'Notes' has been changed too for the first time. The interface has changed to a delightful fancy one from a clichéd traditional notebook theme.

The Messaging app, Contacts app, Face Time, Music app, Game centre, Photos, Newsstand, Reminders, Calendar, Weather, Clock all vintage iOS built-in apps face a new interface, a change that is pleasant.

All these new features and changes comes with the same premium feel that gives Apple the upper hand over their competitors. There is absolutely no lag and the Os runs smooth like honey.
